The first American lady's magazine was started by Louis Godey in 1830 and became the most popular magazine reaching the circulation of 150 000 copies in 1860s. The magazine appeared under several different names during its history: Godey's Lady's Book, Godey's Magazine and Lady's Book and finally Godey's and ceased publication in 1898.
The Evidence magazine was published by Roberts, Johnson & Rand Shoe Co, manufacturer of shoes brands Star Brand and Tess and Ted. The company was founded in 1898 in St. Louis, Mo., USA. Distribution was free among the merchants.
The The Ladies' Home Journal is an American magazine which first appeared on February 16, 1883, and eventually became one of the leading women's magazines of the 20th Century in the United States. It is currently published by the Meredith Corporation.
