Caparros Shoes – was founded by Anavel Caparros in 1988.

Anavel was born in Puerto Rico and is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico, where she majored in philosophy. She honed her design chops in Alicante, Spain, one of the most beautiful provinces on Spain’s eastern coast - and an incubator for footwear design talent. After eighteen years working overseas in Spain and Asia for major shoe brands she was inspired to create Caparros Shoes in 1988.

Today, Caparros Shoes is the largest shoe brand owned and operated by a woman in the U.S. and is available in the finest department stores, specialty boutiques, and online.
